Surat: Several parts of south Gujarat received moderate to heavy rainfall on Monday, with a number of talukas recording significant showers and reports of waterlogging disrupting daily movement.In Surat district, Umarpada received the highest rainfall, recording 45 mm in just two hours between 10 am and noon. The taluka did not receive any further rain during the day. Areth recorded 26 mm of rainfall, while Ambika received 25 mm.Surat city recorded 15 mm of rain, leading to waterlogging in a few areas. Residents reported that recently repaired roads and stretches undergoing construction became hazardous due to water accumulation, posing risks to both motorists and pedestrians. Commuters faced inconvenience as rainwater collected on several low-lying roads.In Tapi district, Ukai recorded 32 mm of rainfall, while Songadh received 20 mm.Valsad district also witnessed showers, with Valsad city recording 30 mm of rainfall. Waterlogging at the Mograwadi underpass affected traffic movement and caused inconvenience to commuters. Kaprada received 16 mm of rain, while Pardi recorded 14 mm.In Dang district, rainfall was reported across most areas, with Waghai recording 19 mm.
