Surat: A three-year-old girl was abducted from the Kapodra area of the city on Monday night while she was sleeping with her mother under a bridge. When the woman woke up, she found the child missing and immediately approached the police.Kapodra police, along with teams from Zone-1 Local Crime Branch (LCB) and the Surat Crime Branch, have launched a massive search operation to trace the girl. During the investigation, police analysed CCTV footage from the area and the trail led to Surat railway station, where the suspect was captured on camera boarding the Daund–Indore Express at around 10.10 pm with the girl and leaving the city.Police said the child’s 30-year-old mother, a native of Saurashtra, had arrived in the city just two days before the incident following a quarrel with her husband. She had come to the city with her youngest daughter, while her two elder daughters, aged 10 and 8 years, remained with their father.Authorities are now coordinating with the Railway Protection Force (RPF), Government Railway Police (GRP) and Indian Railways to track down the suspect. Messages and photographs related to the case are also being circulated on social media platforms to help trace the accused and rescue the child at the earliest.
