The family salon in Raj Arcade
Surat: City police’s anti-human trafficking unit (AHTU) raided a salon in upmarket Pal area and busted a prostitution racket on Sunday. The raid led to the arrest of the salon manager and three customers, while four women were rescued. Police said an agent used to send customers to the salon, which operated as a spa and massage parlour. AHTU inspector MB Shergil, who led the raid said that the spa was being run for the last three years. The owner had made a separate cabin in the salon to run her illegal business. The rescued women are from West Bengal, police said, adding that the accused were booked under Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act and BNS and a detailed investigation is underway.
