Surat: A city man accused a car dealer of selling his BMW X1, which had been handed over as security for a Rs 1.28 lakh loan, and lodged an FIR with Amroli police.According to the FIR registered on Tuesday, Bhautik Vaghasiya handed over his BMW X1 to one Hanu Bharwad as security for a loan of Rs 1.28 lakh with a tenor of one month.Vaghasiya said that when the loan tenor was ending, he approached the accused to repay the sum and recover the vehicle. He said Bharwad failed to return the BMW and avoided giving a clear response when he sought its return.Vaghasiya further alleged that Bharwad then threatened him, telling him to do whatever he could, and refused to return the vehicle, which he valued at Rs 10 lakh.Vaghasiya later learnt that the BMW had been sold to another person without his consent. He approached police, alleging that the vehicle entrusted as security had been misappropriated.The FIR states that the dispute continued for some time as Vaghasiya tried to recover both the vehicle and the money he repaid. Police have registered a case of cheating and criminal intimidation and started an investigation.
