Times News NetworkSurat: Western Railway has decided to stop vehicular movement through the Manisha Garnala underpass near Utran Railway Station from May 20 as part of bridge expansion work linked to the Utran satellite station development project.The closure pertains to Bridge No. 454, locally known as the Manisha Garnala culvert. Authorities said the underpass will remain shut to road users from May 20 to July 1, ahead of the monsoon season.As part of the Utran satellite station project, Western Railway is laying additional railway lines, expanding platforms, and upgrading passenger amenities.Western Railway PRO Anubhav Saxena said, “Expansion work is proposed on both sides of Bridge No. 454 near Utran Railway Station, locally known as the Manisha Garnala. Although the public currently uses it as an underpass, it is actually a waterway drain. To ensure the work is completed safely and swiftly, road traffic beneath the bridge will be temporarily stopped.”Railway officials said an alternative traffic arrangement has been made for commuters through the nearby Road Over Bridge (ROB) No. 454.
