Surat: Surat Diamond Association (SDA) has reappointed its existing team of office-bearers for another one-year term following a managing committee meeting held on Monday.Jagdish Khunt will continue as president, with Jayesh Patel as vice president and Dhiru Savani as secretary. Kirti Shah has been retained as joint secretary, while Shantilal Dhanani will continue as cashier. The extension marks Khunt’s fourth consecutive term as president.SDA remains actively involved in addressing issues affecting the diamond industry, including making representations to govt on matters of concern to manufacturers, traders and workers. The association frequently acts as a mediator in disputes within the industry and in matters involving govt agencies, working to facilitate dialogue and reach mutually acceptable compromises.In addition, SDA assists govt in implementing various schemes linked to the sector. Beyond industry-related activities, the association has also organised social welfare initiatives such as blood donation drives and health check-up camps. Its allied arm also manages the Diamond Hospital in Varachha.
