Surat: A regular afternoon turned into tragedy for a Navsari village, as two young brothers were found dead inside an abandoned car near their home, a find that left villagers reeling.Kairav Jogi, 5, and Abhimanyu Jogi, 3, the sons of Tejal Jogi, residents of Dharagiri village, went out on Wednesday afternoon, reportedly to relieve themselves, but did not return. Their mother continued with household chores, believing they were playing nearby.When the boys remained missing for a long time, Tejal, along with neighbours, began a search in the neighbourhood. In the evening, a woman waste collector alerted the family that two boys were lying inside an old car, near a garage close to the house.Tejal and others rushed to the spot only to find both boys lying motionless inside the vehicle. They were rushed to a private hospital, but doctors there declared them dead.Preliminary inquiries indicated that the car had been lying unused near the garage for a long period. Police believe the children may have been playing, opened the car door and climbed inside but were unable to get out.Police said Tejal has been living separately from her husband, Sudhir, for the past three years and works as a labourer to support the family. An unnatural death case has been registered and further investigation is underway.
