Surat: New Year celebrations in Limbayat and Sachin areas of Surat turned tragic as two 24-year-old youths were murdered on New Year’s Eve. Police have arrested a total of eight accused, including two minors, in connection with the incidents.In the first case in Limbayat, the victim, Jayesh Patel (24), was standing near the Santoshi Mata temple when a group of seven—including Vishal Vagh, Om Girase, Vedant Nikam, Gaurav Jadav, Yash Vyas, Bhagwan Suthar, and a minor—attacked him with sharp weapons, killing him on the spot. Police said the accused had an old enmity with Patel. All six adults and the minor were arrested within hours after being booked for murder.In Sachin, Suraj Survade (24) was standing near a temple when a quarrel over payment for paan masala escalated. The accused, Kamlesh Ranadeve and a minor, attacked Survade with a sharp weapon, killing him. Sachin police arrested both after registering a murder case.
