Info Slip To Be Given 7 Days In Advance | Surat


Surat: District election officials will ensure that each voter in the city and district receive their voter information slip seven days before the polling on December 1. It will make the voting process smooth for the voter as all important details will be mentioned in the slip.
Compared to 2017, this time the number of registered voters has been increased by 7.25 lakh in the district. According to district election officials, the increase in the number of voters in the district is 18 per cent.
In the 16 constituencies of the district, a total of 47.39 lakh voters are registered of which 25.46 lakh are men, 21.92 lakh are women and 159 are third gender. Among the voters, 23,859 are above 80 years old and 423 are divyang voters. In this election, 36,556 are first-time voters.
Each constituency will have seven all-women polling booths, one booth managed by divyang people, one model polling booth, and one green polling booth. One polling booth managed by young voters in the age group of 25 to 30 will also be set up in the district.
In the district, 526 sensitive polling stations and 2,632 polling booths have been identified from where live webcasting will be done. At the sensitive polling stations, teams of CAPF will be posted.
Citizens can raise concerns or file complaints about irregularities through c-vigil mobile application. Flying teams and static surveillance teams will keep a close watch in the district. At district borders, check-posts will be set up and round-the-clock checking will be done. Teams to keep watch on social media have also been set up.
