Surat: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) Surat unit caught a senior clerk of Dakshin Gujarat Vij Company Ltd (DGVCL) and his aide taking a Rs 70,000 bribe.The accused, Santosh Sonavane, a senior clerk with the Kathor sub-division of the state-run discom, reportedly demanded the bribe to provide a commercial connection to a complainant. He sent Bharat Savaliya, a labour contractor, to collect the money.Savaliya was caught red-handed accepting the bribe near Swagat Nursery close to Kamrej toll plaza. The operation was conducted by ACB police inspector R K Solanki under the supervision of ACB assistant director R R Chaudhary.
