Surat: Ichhapore police have arrested a 45-year-old man for allegedly abducting a 13-year-old boy and attempting to sexually assault him in a wooded area near the victim’s home.The accused, Krishnanand Thakurji Mishra, was a contractual worker at ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel (AM/NS) company campus for the past 20 years. He was apprehended in Ichhapore following an investigation based on information received by the police and technical surveillance.According to the complaint, Mishra took the boy, a resident of Ichhapore village, from his home to a wooded area approximately one kilometre away, intending to commit a sexual offence. He attempted to force the minor into an unnatural sexual act, but the boy began crying and resisted the act.The accused then took the boy back and left him at his home. He threatened the child and warned him not to disclose the incident to anyone.However, when the boy’s elder brother noticed that he was disturbed, the child his ordeal. The family members approached Ichhapore police, filing a complaint.Following the registration of an FIR, police investigated the case and arrested Mishra.Mishra is married and lives with his family in Ichhapore village.
