Surat: Varachha police arrested a 29-year-old man for allegedly raping a 13-year-old girl after after luring her into his home by deceit, when his wife and children were not there.The accused and victim worked together at a textile unit in Varachha. They lived in nearby societies on Lambe Hanuman Road. On Aug 15, when his wife went to a relative’s home with their child, the accused told the victim that her sister has come to his house and asked her to come. Believing the accused, she reached his house to find no one but him him home.He then allegedly raped her and later threatened her against telling anyone of the crime. A couple of days later, the victim complained of abdominal pain and was taken to a doctor. Doctors detected a urinary tract infection. Sensing something wrong, her family members asked her if she had been subjected to abuse and she told them about the crime.Her parent then approached Varachha police and filed a rape complaint. Police have apprehended the accused after booking him the BNS and the Pocso Act.
