Surat: A 38-year-old man was booked at the Puna police station for allegedl raping his 14-year-old stepdaughter who was found to be 32-week pregnant.The complaint was lodged by the survivor’s mother who discovered her pregnancy a few days ago when she took the girl to a doctor as she complained of severe abdominal pain.The woman stated in her complaint that she and the accused were in a relationship for 10 years and both were divorced. Two years ago, they got married and started living together.Eight months ago, when the woman went to her work place in a textile unit, the accused allegedly raped the girl. He threatened to kill her mother if she revealed anything. Keeping her under constant fear, he allegedly raped her multiple times.When police asked the girl who had sexually exploited her, she initially refused to reveal the name. However, after she was counselled by the police, she broke down and said that her stepfather had raped her many times over past few months.
