Disturbed Areas Act extended for five years

Surat: A notification was issued by the state govt on Thursday extending the time limit for The Gujarat Prohibition of Transfer of Immovable Property and Provision for Protection of Tenants from Eviction from Premises in Disturbed Areas Act.The previous notification expired on July 31, 2026. After the extension, the Act will be in force till July 31, 2031. No new areas have been added to the areas where the Act is in force.The notification covers Udhna, Limbayat, Athwa, Khatodara, Umarwada, Navagam, Majura, Anjana – Gorat, Parvat, Katargam, Tunki, Rander and Jahagirabad. Transfer of property requires special approval from the district collector in these areas.
