Surat: A major fire broke out at a textile embroidery unit in Saroli late Wednesday night, destroying a large quantity of sarees, textile stock, machinery and other materials.The incident occurred in the Ambika Industrial locality in the early hours. The unit was closed at the time, and no casualties were reported. However, the blaze spread rapidly, engulfing finished and stored textile products and causing extensive damage.Firefighters from multiple stations rushed to the spot and launched an intensive operation to contain the flames and prevent the fire from spreading to nearby units.Officials said the fire was brought under control after nearly three hours of continuous efforts. The exact cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.
