Surat: The Utran police in Surat district have booked a man for allegedly raping a 16-year-old girl with promise of marriage and impregnating her. According to the police, the man allegedly lured the minor four months ago under the pretext of a marriage. On the excuse of introducing her to his family members, he reportedly took her to his residence in the Laskana area, where he allegedly raped her multiple times over four months. The matter came to light only recently after the girl began experiencing abdominal pain, prompting her family to seek medical attention. During medical examination it was discovered that the girl was pregnant. When confronted, she identified the accused.Following the disclosure, the Utran police officially booked the accused under the relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (Pocso) Act.
