Surat: A 38-year-old head constable posted at the Surat city’s marine police station died while on duty late Saturday night after collapsing inside the police station premises. The deceased was identified as Sukhdev Vasava. According to police sources, Vasava went to the washroom during his shift and was later found unconscious by his colleagues.He was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival. His body has been sent for post-mortem examination to ascertain the exact cause of death.Police officials said Vasava was a native of Rajpipla in Narmada district and was currently residing with his family at the Piplod police colony in Surat.
