Wrong-side rider held for attacking cops

Surat: During Surat police’s intensive drive against motorists driving on the wrong side, a two-wheeler rider attacked a traffic policeman in Varachha when stopped for a wrong-side violation. Bhura Sanghani was allegedly riding on the wrong side from Varachha Warehouse towards the Gitanjali area at noon on Wednesday.Traffic policeman Bharat Karsanbhai and Traffic Regulation Brigade jawan Divya Vishal tried to stop him and Sanghani allegedly started arguing. He then allegedly attacked Bharat, pushing him. An FIR was later lodged against Sanghani under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita Sections 121, 221, 281 and Section 184 of the Motor Vehicles Act for attacking a public servant, obstructing him from his duty and dangerous driving.
