Surat: A 44-year-old woman died by suicide in Surat’s Varachha area after allegedly consuming insecticide following prolonged domestic disputes, police said on Monday.The victim, identified as Seema Vaghani, consumed the poison on Sunday night and was rushed to a private hospital, where she died during treatment on Monday.After her death, Seema’s brother and other family members demanded strict action against her husband, Sunil Vaghani, who works at a diamond office. The family alleged that she had been facing domestic feuds since the early years of her 25-year marriage.Seema is survived by two sons aged 24 and 22. The elder son is currently studying in Canada and the family said the last rites will be performed after he reaches Surat.Varachha police registered an accidental death case and began an inquiry into possible abetment to suicide. Police said an offence against the husband is likely to be registered after the cremation.
