First impressions are last impressions, they say! So dressing up for your first date is a fashion event. So, how to score full marks with your wardrobe for the occasion.
Dressing up for your first date is probably the most important fashion event of your life - before your wedding day. In all probability, it’s going to be how you dress on your first date (and all of them after that), that’s going to add up to her choosing you as marriage material. Of course, here I’m going to assume you have a gym-toned body and look as hot as Shah Rukh Khan or Russel Crowe - so what you wear, is only going to make you more sexually appealing. The main idea of course, is that she finds you so attractive, that rather than seeing you in clothes, she’d rather rip them off your back. So here’s a step by step guide to looking good on your first date…..First of all, you must realise that impressing her with a fashionable get-up is meant to give her a good first impression. What you wear must never be a substitute for self-confidence or a positive attitude - rather, it should enhance those qualities. Hence, it’s best to keep your first-date outfit simple and smart. Less is More
The secret is not to change your style radically to fit in to the current fashion trends but to ensure that your pieces blend well together. For example, when choosing your pants for the first date, don’t opt for an extra tight or extra baggy pair - fitted pants would be a nice compromise of the two styles. Try to avoid extremes if you’re looking for simplicity. To be honest, being a tad conservative on your first date is a good idea. Remember, it’s all about first impressions! As for your shirt or tee shirtNo matter how well-defined your upper body is, try to avoid anything that’s too tight or revealing. You don’t want her to think you’re a show-off who enjoys exhibiting his physique. Again, go for something that skims your contours well as this will make her wonder what you look like under your shirt or sweater - adding an enigmatic element. If however, you are a bit on the pudgier side, wear something a little less revealing that can effectively camouflage areas you don’t want her to see - like your beer belly or love handles. At all costsAvoid those comfortable faded jeans you hate to get out of and T-shirts with sport, rock group or sexist logos and captions. You don’t want her to think you’re still a college kid who cannot think beyond booze, sex and sports. However
If there’s an emblem or logo by a top fashion house like
Versace, Armani etc, it’s OK! If you absolutely must wear a T-shirt, opt for a cotton or knit sweatshirt in neutral colours like black, gray or white. Sweatshirts are sporty and stylish, yet simplistic and are versatile enough to be worn with any kind of bottoms. Match your accessoriesOf course, match your accessories with the colours you are wearing. Black shoes and a belt are the safest bet and can go with any hues. But make sure you polish them both before wearing them. As for your jewelryAgain keep it to the minimum. You may enjoy wearing an assortment of rings and chains around your fingers, wrists and neck - but take them off for this occasion. We do not want to distract her with all that flashy stuff. She’s got to be tuned into your personality and not think, "Wow! If he wears so much of jewelry, I’m sure he’ll buy me a lot too if I hitch up with him!" One thin chain around your neck, one bracelet and one ring would be just right. Last but not the leastDon’t forget to go to the salon a few hours earlier for a clean shave. You might also trim your hair a bit, cut off stray hairs from your nose, ears and other unsightly places. Get a manicure if you have the time or otherwise, make sure your nails are spotlessly clean - smokers especially. Also, spritz yourself with a dash of perfume - not too much though as it can be pretty negatively overwhelming. |
