SUJI IDLI

DeGcious idlis can be on the breakfast table in no time. 

Makes 5 big idlis
5 small glass ( micro proof ) katoris  ( bowls )
1 tbsp oil 

1-2 green chillies 1 

cup suji (rawa)
2 tbsp chopped coriander leaves 

1/2 tsp soda-bicarb
1 cup curd
1/4 cup grated coconut 

1/2 cup water
3/4 tsp salt

 

1. Chop coriander leaves & green chillies finely.

2. In a dish micro high uncovered 1 tbsp oil 2 minutes. 

3. Add chillies. Micro high uncovered 1 minute.

4. Add suji (rawa). Mix well. Micro high uncovered 1 minute. 

5. Add coriander leaves & salt. Mix well. Allow to cool.

6. Add coconut, curd, water & soda-bicarb. Keep aside for 10 minutes. 

7. Grease small glass katoris or plastic boxes. Pour 2-3 tbsp mixture into each katori.

8. Arrange in a ring in the microwave & micro high uncovered 4 minutes. 

9. Let stand 5 minutes. Serve hot with coconut chutney.


Note : One idli takes 1 minute for cooking. So cooking time increases as per the number of idlis. If the idlis are made before hand. remove from moulds & keep in a covered box. Before serving micro high 1 minute. Idlis should always be served hot.


Ordinary idlis of rice-dal mixture can also be made similarly in a microwave.
