KHOYA MATAR

 

Khoya Matar

6"-7" round dish, 2"high with cover 

100 gms khoya - grated
1 cup matar (shelled peas) 

2 tbsp desi ghee or oil
3 tbsp ready made tomato puree (Godrej or Kissan) 

1/4 - 1/2 tsp red chili powder
1/2 tsp jeera (cumin) powder, 

1/2 tsp garam masala powder a few cashewnuts - optional
3/4 tsp salt
GRIND TOGETHER
1 medium sized onion, 1-2 green chillies, 1/2"  piece gingergrind together

 

1. In a dish, micro high uncovered oil 2 minutes.

2. Grind together onion, green chillies & ginger. Add onion paste to oil. Mix well.

3. Micro high uncovered 5 minutes.

4. Add tomato puree, garam masala, jeera powder, peas and 3-4 tbsp water.

5. Micro high uncovered 3 minutes.

6. Add salt, grated khoya, 6-7 tbsp water and cashewnuts. Mix gently so as not to mash 
    the khoya.

7. Micro high covered 2 minutes. 

8. Serve hot.
